Why landscape handover matters
The exterior is one of the most visible parts of a finished build and one of the most common sources of last-minute snags. A documented landscape handover reduces handover risk and protects buyer perception.
The checklist
- Exterior scope agreed and documented
- Site access and sequencing coordinated with the build programme
- Surfaces, levels and drainage completed to plan
- Planting established and protected
- Site cleaned and presented for handover
- Care pathway and establishment guidance provided
Common gaps
The usual gaps are scope agreed too late, no record of what was done, and no plan for establishment — which is when newly planted areas and surfaces are most vulnerable.
